Cloudflare TLS Encryption Settings

Too many redirects with Cloudflare: Solved

This is as much a note to myself as it is for you.

After a great deal of Googling and getting help from forums, I finally figured out how to use Cloudflare with my VPS.

If your server is set up to use http > https redirects and Cloudflare isn’t configured properly, requests get stuck in a loop until the system times out.

A number of people insisted that the only way to fix this is to remove https redirects but the solution is simpler than I expected.

  • Go to your Cloudflare account
  • Select your domain
  • Go to SSL/TLS (menu, left)
  • Make sure your encryption mode is set to FULL

You can now use the Cloudflare proxy along with other services.
